Medha Lalon Chattro Shongho is a famous Hindi story about two cousins who decide to take a vow of poverty and live in the forest. The legend says that their poverty stricken relatives are so much affected by the poverty line that even fish dies from hunger. They are blessed with four daughters, but their husbands have died. Their only son Jai Mahal, an athletic youth, vows to take his father's place in the family business, and they leave their home in Uttar Pradesh (India) to start it.
However, in order to support their new family, they have to start at the bottom of the ladder, since there is no business in the village. There are some people who know them, and help them in getting on their feet, but they are too poor to manage. The sisters are not very keen on this idea, but their father's will says otherwise. He dies, leaving his three daughters alone. They move to an old shack in the forest where they meet an old man, Kalikadevi. The sisters start out as assistants to Kalikadevi, who takes up the task of selling wood to nearby villages.
Soon, they become really good at it, and earn enough to set up a small store. However, when the government starts a campaign to introduce electricity to villages, it fails to gain the approval of the local people.
So, they go back to Kerala, where their story is told in full details. The electricity succeeds, and they start earning enough to build more establishments. The rest is Indian life, in simple terms.
